ARCHITECTURE PROJECTS
To the untrained eye, the intention of the architect often go unnoticed.
The concept behind a project often gets lost in translation.
This is a collection of works over my first three years of architecture where I sought to define meaning, purpose, and consideration in design for minority under an assortment of briefs. Solace offers a positive perspective on the lost heritage for an Australian Aboriginal Centre through the concept of circular time, that what is lost may return as the cycle continues. Ikigai sets the stage for residents of Redfern to seek their purpose in life through various public amenities. Obscura rationalises the mixed-use lot for a museum of lost environments and a fine furniture maker through the conceptual logic of the historical event of the ‘torn sleeve’ from the Western Han Dynasty. Nipa Palm’s structure materialised from the eponymous plant used in various ways, from dessert to building material to house an Indekos in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Enjoy.
